Golden Cross Momentum (50/200 SMA)

Entry Logic

  • Entry trigger: The 50 SMA crosses above the 200 SMA (a "golden cross").
  • Confirmation: Price finds support at the 50 or 200 SMA after the cross.
  • Timeframe: Daily chart.
  • Location context: The golden cross occurs after a significant downtrend.
  • Market condition: A new long-term uptrend is beginning.

Exit Logic

  • Profit target: The previous major swing high.
  • Scaling out: Not recommended.
  • Trailing stop: Trail the stop below the 50 SMA.
  • Signal failure: Exit if the 50 SMA crosses back below the 200 SMA.
