Implied Volatility Percentile Trade
Entry Logic
- Entry trigger: Implied Volatility (IV) Percentile is above 80% or below 20%.
- Confirmation: Price action confirms a potential reversal in the underlying.
- Timeframe: Daily chart.
- Location context: Underlying is at a key support or resistance level.
- Market condition: High or low implied volatility.
Exit Logic
- Profit target: IV Percentile returns to its mean (50%).
- Scaling out: Scale out as the underlying moves in the desired direction.
- Trailing stop: Use a moving average to trail the stop.
- Signal failure exit: IV Percentile continues to move to extremes.
- Opposite signal exit: A new high or low in IV Percentile is made against the position.
- Time expiration: Exit after 30-45 days.
- Momentum loss: The underlying stalls and moves sideways.
Stop Loss Structure
- Hard stop: A close beyond the support or resistance level.
